Good attendance is one of the attributes the City considers important. The purpose of the Rule is to identify attendance guidelines for the City. On occasion, it may be necessary for an employee to miss work or be late. Based on the department, hours of work and attendance requirements may vary.
An employee (or employee’s designee) who will be either late or unable to report for work shall notify his/her Department Head or Supervisor prior to the start of the employee’s work day, to the extent practicable, with the reason for the absence or lateness. If the employee does not talk with the supervisor, contact information should be left for the supervisor. This will insure efficient operation of the department.
